What is Wint Wealth?

Wint Wealth is an online investment platform in India that allows retail investors to invest in fixed-income products like corporate bonds and fixed deposits.

The platform was started in 2020 (previously also called GrowFix before being rebranded to Wint Wealth in 2021) and used to offer high yield debt investment products like Covered Bonds, MLDs, asset backed securities, etc. to retail investors. However, since the last few years, it is working actively in fixed-income products like senior secured bonds and high yield fixed deposits by small finance banks &` NBFC’s.

Wint Wealth Offerings

Wint Wealth is currently offering products across two debt investment products- fixed deposits by select small finance banks & NBFC’s & senior secured bonds.

Senior Secured Bonds:  The platform claims to filter hundreds of bonds & list on select hand-picked bonds on their platform. At the time of writing this article, there are 62 bonds listed on their platform. The app has an intuitive interface to select bonds as per your requirements- based on tenure, ratings, yield etc. They also claim that they invest 2% themselves in the bonds listed on their platforms making them have skin in the game. They also claim 100% on time repayments as of date.

Fixed Deposits: The platform also lists fixed deposits (and also recurring deposits) from small finance banks, NBFCs and even a few regular banks- similar to the ones offered by many fintech platforms nowadays. At the moment, they have partnered with Bajaj Finance, Shrirang Finance, Slice, Suryoday Small Finance Bank, Utkarsh Small Finance Bank, Shivalik Small Finance Bank, etc. to offer fixed & recurring deposits.

Pros:

  • Simple and beginner-friendly platform
  • Access to handpicked bond investment options
  • Bonds to suit all investor profiles- spread across yield, ratings, tenures, etc.
  • Skin in the game- they themselves invest 2% in all bonds listed on their platform.
  • SIP functionality in bonds- helps diversify investments across bonds and mitigate risk.

Cons:

  • For aggressive DIY bond investors, not of much help since multiple other platforms are available for similar bonds.
  • FDs listed thorough tier partner SFBs and NBFCs are being offered by almost all fintech platforms these days- no differentiators here.

Is Wint Wealth Safe?

This is one of the most common questions: “Is Wint Wealth safe to invest?”

Wint Wealth as a platform is regulated and follows SEBI guidelines. However, the safety of your investment depends on the issuer of the bond in which you have invested, not the platform.

The risk is broadly divided into 2 parts-

Platform risk– This is considerably low for Wint Wealth since it is a SEBI registered OBPP platform & follows the guidelines & regulations in place

Investment risk– Depends on the bond issuer/company whose bonds you invest in. Bonds usually come with credit ratings, which give an idea of the issuer’s ability to repay.

So while Wint Wealth provides access and transparency, you should always check- Credit rating and background of the issuer- along with the risk disclosures.

Alternatives to Wint Wealth

While Wint Wealth is a popular choice for fixed-income investments, it’s not the only option available. In fact, depending on your investment style, some platforms may offer better flexibility, wider product range, or more competitive yields.

Here are some strong alternatives worth considering:

  • BondsScanner– BondsScanner is ideal for investors who prefer data-driven decision-making rather than curated deals.
  • Aspero– Aspero (by Yubi Group) is one of the most credible platforms in India’s bond ecosystem.
  • Stable Bonds (from Stable Money)- Stable Money is primarily focused on fixed deposits but has started offering bond products under “Stable Bonds”.
  • The Fixed Income– Another leading platform for bonds in India.
  • Altifi – Altifi offers structured debt opportunities and slightly higher-yield products, but with relatively higher risk.
  • Jiraaf– Focuses on alternative fixed-income products like Asset-backed investments & Structured credit opportunities

If you intend to use Wint Wealth only for the fixed deposits but are looking for alternatives, almost all fintech platforms these days offer SFB FDs & limited NBFC FDs. Some of them are Stable Money, Grip Invest, Kuvera, etc. However, the interest rates in most cases remain the same- irrespective of the platforms. So no additional incentives. Just select reliable platform with ease of use & managing FDs.

Conclusion

Wint Wealth is a simple no nonsense straightforward platform. If your goal is to invest a part of your portfolio into bonds & dont have time & energy to compare yields, do research, etc., it can be a good option.

Its biggest strength is simplicity. You get access to bonds and FDs in one place without much complexity.

However, if you are a slightly matured investor knowing the in-and-outs of bond investing, you can check other platforms as well. A smart approach would be to use Wint Wealth as part of your overall portfolio, not the entire portfolio- selecting ideal bonds matching your ideal requirements and investing in those.
