What is Amplio?

 Amplio Logo

Amplio or Amplio Invest is an alternative investment platform based in Mumbai. It was previously known as Tyke Invest and later rebranded as Amplio, now operating under the entity Crestfort Technologies Private Limited. The platform is led by Karan Mehra (CEO) and Purav Bubna (COO). The platform positions itself as an easy way to diversify beyond stocks, mutual funds, and fixed deposits.

Amplio primarily offers two investment products on its platform-  Invoice Discounting and Amplio Wealth. Invoice Discounting lets investors fund short-term business invoices and earn interest once the invoice is settled by the buyer, typically within months- letting you earn upto 13% returns. Amplio Wealth, on the other hand, is built around short term financing wherein you can earn upto 10% returns with 7 days lock-in & weekly payouts.

Is Amplio Safe to Invest?

This is probably the most important question in this Amplio review, and the honest answer is: it depends on which product you are investing in, and it’s not a simple yes or no.

Products like invoice discounting are not regulated by any government entity like SEBI & comes with inherent risks. While Amplio has tried its best to mitigate the risks involved, however the risks involved are real. At the same time, returns promised of up to 13% per annum are not available in risk free investment options. Hence, one has to be very prudent & invest in products like invoice discounting after considering all risks involved and invest only a small portion fo your overall portfolio into such assets.

Amplio Alternatives: Other Platforms to Consider

In case you are planning to invest in invoice discounting which is one of Amplio’s primary offerings, following are some alternatives which you can consider. However, do note that, these platforms also do carry similar risks – which come inherently with non regulated products like invoice discounting.

Altgraaf: One of the leading platforms for invoice discounting in India. Has invoices spread across multiple internal categories like Alt Blu, Alt Armour, Alt Wings, etc. with many deals offering trade credit assurance & bank guarantees for repayments.

Ultra: Formerly known as Tap Invest. Offers alternative investment products like asset leasing as well apart from invoice discounting & the standard- digital gold, digital silver, FDs, etc.

Better Invest: A platform which works with invoices related to the media and entertainment industry. No fixed payout dates for deals but has higher IRR of upto 17%.

Conclusion

So, is Amplio worth it? Based on everything covered in this Amplio review, Amplio appears to be a decent platform for alternative investment products like invoice discounting. It offers an accessible entry point into invoice discounting and fixed-income style products with lower minimum investments.

Having said that, it is not a risk-free product, and it should not be compared to regulated investment products for safety. If you are comfortable with risk in exchange for potentially higher returns, and you do your own research on each specific deal, Amplio can be a reasonable addition to a diversified portfolio. If you prefer capital safety above everything else, you may want to stick to more traditional, fully regulated instruments.
